Government Car Auctions
What is a government car auction?
A government car auction is a place where you can bid for cars and pick up bargains at much reduced prices.
Where do the cars come from?
You will find a large range of cars at a government car auction. The large majority of these have either been seized by the police from criminals or could be ex police/ government cars.
If you are after a high end, more expensive type of car, you may find that you get a real bargain at the government car auction because when police seize cars from criminals, they are usually top of the range cars that the criminals could afford.
Also, if you are prepared to buy a car with high mileage, you can do extremely well because a lot of the ex police/ government cars have high mileage but have also been serviced regularly and would have been kept in very condition.
How to use the internet to find the best government car auctions?
Every now and again the government will put an ad in the local papers sating that an auction will be held of the next week or so.
However, it is much easier to get on the internet and search for your local government car auction.
You will find plenty of websites that will give you your nearest auction site and when the next auction will be. You can also find some bargains at your nearest seized car auction
Some of these sites charge a small membership fee, but it is well worth the cost because you will save a lot of time and you can also search some of these sites to see which cars will be at the auction and you can even make bids on some of these sites from the comfort of your own home!
One important thing you must beware of.
There is every chance that you will make a huge saving on your purchase (up to 90% in some cases), but this may mean that you are tempted into purchasing a more better model car than you had first set out to.
Although it is brilliant that you have saved so much money on your purchase, you must also be aware that your new high end model car, will more than likely cost you more to insure and service.
If you can afford these extra costs and get a better car than usually purchase, go for it!
